The boss was pleased with the attitude of his players to bounce back from the disappointment of three consecutive defeats “It was a joy to watch”.

Bailey Adamsons hat trick and a single goal for Konner Lamb proved the difference in the FA Vase tie that saw Blyth cruise through into Mondays third qualifying round draw. 

Speaking after the game on the performance manager Michael Conner said “after going a goal down the lads have done excellent to respond we’ve caused them (Squires Gate) a lot of problems and then we’ve equalised and we’ve been on top of the game ever since, It’s always tough when you come up against teams like this, you never know what your going to get so just really pleased that we are into the hat for the next round”

On Bailey Adamson and his three goals Michael Conner said “six goals in two games in any competition is special, Baileys gutted in the dressing room that he didn’t get his tally up to seven after he missed that penalty. I spoke about it before the game but he’s a big lad and everyone excepts him to win the ball in the air but that isn’t his game, he enjoys getting the ball at his feet and scoring goals and he’s done it again another hat trick like at Thornaby” 

Speaking on the debuts of Shane Ferguson and Sam Watt Michael said “Sam has just said in the changers he should have scored from the rebound on the penalty, but he played really well when he came on, I think Shane is going to be a work in progress with him it’s a fitness thing with his age, with his experience he is a great player to have in the dressing room and an asset to the younger players”

Finally talking about the momentum going into the next fixture the boss said “Crook are an excellent footballing team we’ve had them watched a couple of times this season so we know what there about when we go down there Saturday, but we just have to be at our best anyone from top to bottom can beat anyone on there day in this league, well have a good week of training and that’s see what happens”.
