The club can announce Mattie Thomson will be stepping down from his role as joint manager
Chairman Scott Douglas has said βAfter Saturdays game against North Ferriby, Mattie spoke to myself and advised me he would be leaving Blyth Town due to personal and work commitments. Mattie runs a very successful coaching business which he needs to focus 100% on in the short term. He didnβt feel he could commit to the level he personally wanted to achieve at the club. Whilst this is disappointing we respect his decision. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his efforts and wish him all the best for the future, Iβm sure he will be back in the dugout, doing what he does best, very soon. Thank you Mattie and best wishes from everyone at Blyth Town Football Clubβ
Mattie has also said
Timing is everything in football, but right now I have other priorities. I have loved working at this level and know I have something to offer. I wish the club nothing but the best and know they will be ok. Itβs a long season β
