Match Preview : Penrith AFC vs Blyth Town FC

Blyth Town make the long midweek trip to Cumbria to take on the “Bonny-blues” on their home soil of Frenchfield Park.

The fixture-arranger couldn’t have been any nicer to Blyth, making our first away game one of the longest of the season on a midweek in the height of summer.

Coming into this game Blyth sent a statement out to the rest of the leauge that they are there to be beaten following the 6-0 hammering of Birtley Town at Gateway Park.

The debutants, Bailey Adamson, Alfie Marriot, Andy Burn and Owen Mitchell all got on the score sheet with Dean Briggs assisting 5.

The visitors away form was one of the highlights of last season, with majority of the wins coming away from home.

The Opposition – Penrith AFC

Jim Nichols Penrith side failed to find the back of the net in their opening day fixture against Easington, falling to a 1-0 defeat.

The Bonny-blues finished in a comfortable 12th place last campaign neither threatening for the play offs or relegation, however some people believe the side underperformed.

The Home side registered 7 wins and 5 draws last season on their home soil, with Blyth arriving full of confidence the home side will be eager to halt their plans.

One’s to watch 👀

Blyth Town striker Bailey Adamson sent a message to the rest of the league on his debut for the club taking his two goals well. Bailey comes into the campaign following a successful season with Whickham where he was top scorer for the relegation threatened side.

Penrith midfielder Luke Brown will prove to be a threat, he is an attacking player with a wealth of knowledge in the game, and scored his share of goals, having been Penrith’s 3 highest scorer behind Luke Hunter and Connor shields who both departed the club.
