Blyth Town FC VS Squires Gate

Blyth return to FA Vase action as the road to Wembley continues into the second qualifying round as we face Blackpool based Squires Gate.

Blyth return to home soil in the FA Vase for the first time since the defeat on penalties to Whickham in the 23/24 season as Blyth’s record breaking cup run came to an end in the 5th round proper.

Easington were the visitors to Gateway Park last week where Blyth made it 3 consecutive games without a win and a second game without scoring a goal.

With lots of proven goal scorers in the team Blyth will be looking to put it right, as Michael Conner’s team return to Gateway Park.

The Opposition – Squires Gate

Squires Gate who compete in the North West Counties Division 1 (Northern League Div 2 equivalent) will be making their first ever visit to Gateway Park as they make the long journey from Blackpool.

Squired Gate currently sit 15th in the North West Counties table with only two wins to their name this season.

The Blackpool based side arrive at Gateway Park having revived a bye in the first qualifying round due to the withdrawal of Boro Rangers.

Luke Evans side’s best performance in the competition came in the 2005/2006 season as they reached the quarter finals.

Season tickets are not valid.

It’s advised that people arrive at the ground early to avoid potential queues.

Parking 

Limited, unreserved parking spaces are available within the ground.

Travel 

Newsham station is a 5 minute walk away from Gateway Park, there is also a bus stop next to the ground that serves the x8 bus to and from Newcastle.
